Now that doesn't mean a full meal, but just eat a handful of nuts, or a little cheese or a few bits of fruit and that will keep your blood sugar up. It actually works for me.     At 7 weeks old he was eating 4 to 5oz every 2 hours. And I mean EVERY 2 hours. So, no, I dont think your son is eating too much. My son also weighed about 12 lbs at 7 weeks too. Just my oppinion but my doc says a baby that sleeps through the night will tend to eat more during the day i.e., every two to three hours.
