Apr 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM. My LO is 6 months yesterday but was 5 weeks early. She is still feeding every 2 hours between 4 and 4.5 ounces. The amount of ounces hasn't increased since early February maybe. We have tried to get her to take more but its a struggle to get that amount in before the bottle expires in 1 hour.

My LG was exactly the same around 4-6 months. Every 2-4 hours sometimes hourly. But I bottle fed so me and partner took it in turns. It was so hard and I was exhausted, I just kept feeding. My mum said to crush up half a rusk and put it in her last feed before bed and it helped a lot. It helped fill her up more as she was such a hungry baby.

Short answer… because you let him. Encourage baby to take full feeds and then baby won’t need to feed sooner than 2.5 or 3 hours between feeds throughout the day. Perhaps even less at night. Is ten minutes a full feed? Probably not. If baby will feed for ten minutes then nap and wake up to feed around 2.5 hours later, it might be.
