Billy, In the medical literature for this medication, it states that for adults, up to 1000 mg is fine every 4-6 hours, and not to exceed 4000 mg in 24 hours. Hence, anything over this amount is considered an overdose as such this is why I advised you to get checked out, just to be safe, and moreso if you were experiencing any symptoms.
