Every baby is a bit different and his overall size and growth will need to be taken into consideration but a good rule of thumb is that babies need 2 1/2 fl oz (75mls) per pound of body weight in 24 hours. So if he weighs 10lb (4.55kg) you would be giving him 25fl oz ( 750 mls) split over a whole day and night.

At 5.5 weeks, that's a very normal eating schedule. I know it's hard- we went through a stretch where N would eat every 2-3 hours and it was exhausting- but it will pass. In the meantime, there are formulas that are made for overnights to help your LO sleep longer. Sorry I can't give you a specific name- I'm BFing and we don't use formula.
