I don't think anyone has said this but nursing or sucking can soothe reflux. It keeps the acid down in the stomach and also soothes the throat. Nursing every 2 hours is normal until they start eating 3 solid meals per day (around 9-12 mos). Now hopefully you can get a longer stretch at night but during the day that is very normal.
