When sending using Mac Mail on the same computer as outlook, or sending directly through our mail server interface, the email goes through to the AOL recipient.

Users receive the “521 5.2.1 AOL will not accept delivery of this message” error when trying to send certain emails. This is usually indicative of a problem with the reverse DNS lookup. As it turns out, the error code is displayed either because AOL’s mail server rejected the connection, or because the sending server’s information couldn’t be loaded into the DNS properly.

Feb 11, 2016 · I am getting 521 5.2.1 : AOL will not accept delivery of this message when I send from my sbcglobal account which uses yahoo as mail provider. My Gmail account is encountering no problem. Sending to any other domain also has no problem. Just AOL mail recipients. Anyone else seeing this behavior, and if so have you discovered the problem.

521 5.2.1 : AOL will not accept delivery of this message. Mike also mentioned his IP reputation is good, when he checks at AOL so he doesn’t understand why mail is being blocked. I think the big clue is after the end of data and would look at the full content of the mail, particularly domains and URLs, to identify is triggering the block.

Oct 12, 2012 · 521 5.2.1 : AOL will not accept delivery of this message. have corresponded to the same aol clients for years. began getting returned emails around Nov 10 or so. no other changes. evidently lots of other people with same issue. all my settings are correct and all other functions are operational. please fix.

The SMTP reply code 521 indicates an Internet mail host DOES NOT ACCEPT incoming mail. If you are receiving this error it indicates a configuration error on the part of the recipient organisation, i.e. inbound e-mail traffic is being routed through a mail server which has been explicitly configured (intentionally or not) to NOT ACCEPT incoming e-mail.
